TCTELA wants to connect with you beyond the annual conference. Sections are patterned after our parent organization, the National Conference of Teacher of English, and provide the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues throughout Texas all year long. Groups meet during the year via online options to share best practices and develop various resources to support the needs of the section. Find your section below and your section chair here.

The High School Section is all about supporting, encouraging, and growing secondary educators that are focused on equity and celebrate diversity in their classrooms. Two major projects of the High School Section are our ongoing podcast, Learnin & Yearnin, and through additions to lessons in our mentor bank. We meet monthly to discuss our outreach opportunities, to discuss major issues, and to share our celebrations. To join, use this link to get to our survey.

Texas Council of Teachers of English Language Arts is dedicated to nurturing, fostering, and supporting pre-service English teachers by offering quality professional development experiences and opportunities to build relationships with veteran teachers across the state.
